Opening night at the Partridge in a Pear Tree Show at the The Frank Bette Center for the Arts in Alameda, November 2, 2007.
Kathe won the Best of Show Sponsor's Award for her Linoleum print Sally Bird. Her print The Enchanted Tree and pen & ink drawing Holiday got a lot of really good response form the crowds. Holiday is the second in the calendar series to be shown at the Frank Bette Canter for the Arts. There are twelve calendar in the series of which three are finished. When they are all complete she plans to show them together. Kathe Welch had three pieces hung on the walls of the gallery and 13 prints in sleeves in a display rack.
Graham Bird had one of his photograph in the show - a painted nude female figure holding a gold pear and a bird. This photo was shot to fit into this Partridge in a Pear Tree Show and it sold during the show!
Heather Piazza debuted her large mixed media painting Aspen. Aspen is a 36" x 36" (Center of above photo) and is part of a series. She also showed Valley Sunrise a linoleum block print, her mixed media drawing Peary Peary Night, and Untitled an Acrylic Tree. Heather Piazza had four pieces hung on the walls and 15 glass pendants on display.
